Information on school closings click here - No School Monday March 16th until further notice

Sunday, March 15, 2020 Dear WSWSU Families, Employees and Community, We find ourselves in a rapidly changing, uncharted situation. We are grateful for the guidance and support that we have received from the Vermont Department of Health, the Vermont Agency of Education, and the Governor’s Office. On March 15 at 3:20 p.m., Governor Scott announced that statewide school closure will occur no later than Wednesday, March 18, 2020. The purpose of this message is to update you on the actions the WSWSU will take as it relates to Governor Scott's School Closure announcement. All WSWSU district schools will be closed beginning Monday, March 16th, until further notice. Teachers and school staff are not expected to report to work on Monday so that administrators and the Task Force can further plan. By the end of the day Monday, we will give teachers and staff direction around working the remainder of the week and how we expect them to plan for the continuity of their students’ learning and/or how they will support students’ continuity of learning. The wellbeing of our students, families and employees is a priority. As such, the plan that we are developing will strive to encompass all of the components that Governor Scott has referenced in his statement/press conference. I recognize that closing is extremely difficult for many of our families, as well as our community as a whole. Thank you for your patience and flexibility as we move forward. You can expect regular communication from our district so that we are keeping you informed. We are committed to doing all we can to make sure these priorities are taken care of to the best of our abilities. Sincerely, Barbara Anne Komons-Montroll Superintendent of WSWSU
